Core systems

Three Core Concrete Flooring Systems

Not every floor gets the same treatment. The slab's condition, its moisture content and the traffic it carries determine which of these belongs in your building.

Polished Concrete

Mechanical polishing through a progressive diamond sequence, with a penetrating densifier locking the surface before the final passes. We polish warehouses, retail floors, restaurants, showrooms and residential interiors.

Benefit — one surface, no coating to delaminate, decades of service

Polyurea & Epoxy Coatings

Decorative flake, metallic, solid-color and quartz systems built on a polyurea or epoxy basecoat and sealed with a polyaspartic topcoat. Most residential garage floors are installed in a single day, depending on slab condition.

Benefit — full-broadcast flake, hand-worked to a seamless finish

Industrial Floor Coatings

High-build epoxy, heavy-duty quartz, urethane cement, industrial polishing and grind and seal. Specified against your actual traffic, thermal cycling, wash-down routine and chemical exposure — and phased so production keeps running.

Benefit — sectioned scheduling, no full shutdown required

Who we work for

Residential, Commercial & Industrial Flooring

Flake floor coating finished across a two-bay residential garage in Georgia

Homeowners

Residential

Garages, patios, pool decks and basements. Flake coatings hide slab imperfections, add slip resistance underfoot, and shrug off hot tires, road salt and oil. Fourteen flake blends to choose from, and most single-bay garages are finished in one day.

  • Diamond grinding and crack repair before any coating
  • Full-broadcast flake, worked to refusal by hand
  • UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat that will not amber

Business owners & property managers

Commercial

Restaurants, offices, retail, clinics, gyms, salons and showrooms. These floors are judged by customers and cleaned every night, so they need to look deliberate and survive a mop, a cart and a Saturday crowd.

  • Polished concrete, quartz, flake and metallic systems
  • Work scheduled around trading hours
  • Seamless, non-porous surfaces that clean quickly

Facility & operations managers

Industrial

Warehouses, manufacturing plants, commercial kitchens, automotive service bays, workshops and logistics facilities. Specification starts with how the floor is actually used: forklift traffic, point loads, wash-down frequency, thermal shock and what gets spilled on it.

  • Shot blasting and grinding to the profile the system requires
  • Joint repair and surface reinstatement before coating
  • Safety-zone and traffic-route markings integrated into the design

Our standard

Where Quality Still Matters

Nearly every coating failure traces back to preparation, not product. A floor that peels was almost always rolled over a slab that was never opened up. We prepare mechanically, every time, because nothing bonds to a sealed or contaminated surface.

Mechanical Preparation, Not Shortcuts

We grind with professional machines and dust-free industrial vacuums, then hand-detail every edge, corner and door threshold where a walk-behind cannot reach. Cracks and spalls are cut out and repaired, not filled over. Where the slab or the building calls for it, we evaluate moisture before selecting a system.

The Right System for the Floor

A boutique and a forklift aisle do not get the same floor. We specify from conditions, and we will tell you when a cheaper system is the correct one.

How conditions drive the specification
Condition on site What it rules out Where we usually land
Elevated slab moisture Standard-build coatings applied direct to slab Moisture evaluation first, then a mitigating primer or a polished / grind-and-seal route
Forklift & point loads Thin decorative films High-build epoxy or heavy-duty quartz, or industrial polishing where appearance allows
Hot wash-down, thermal cycling Most standard epoxy systems Urethane cement, specified to the temperature range you actually run
Wet or sloped walking surface Smooth gloss finishes Broadcast texture, with the aggregate sized to the cleaning method
Tight budget, sound slab Full build-up systems Grind and seal, or stain and seal — honest performance for the money

Polished concrete appearance levels — the industry scale we specify against

LEVEL 1
100–200
Ground / flat. A matte, utilitarian surface for back-of-house areas.
LEVEL 2
400
Honed satin. Low sheen, reads soft underfoot and under lighting.
LEVEL 3
800
Semi-polished. Clear reflection at a distance — the common retail choice.
LEVEL 4
1500+
Highly polished. Mirror-like, with overhead lighting reflected sharply.

Gloss is a specification, not an accident. Tell us how the room is lit and how it gets cleaned, and we will recommend the level that holds up rather than the shiniest one.

How the work runs

Our Four-Step Installation Process

The same sequence on a two-car garage and a 60,000 sq ft plant. Only the equipment and the phasing change.

STEP 01

Inspection & Evaluation

We measure the space, read the slab, and find the cracks, spalls, coatings and contamination that decide everything downstream. Where conditions call for it, we evaluate moisture before specifying.

STEP 02

Concrete Preparation

Diamond grinding or shot blasting opens the surface to the profile the system needs. Edges and corners are detailed by hand. Cracks and joints are repaired. Dust is collected at the machine, not swept up afterward.

STEP 03

System Installation

Basecoat, broadcast and topcoat for coatings; progressive diamond passes and densifier for polished concrete. Industrial work is sectioned so your operation keeps moving.

STEP 04

Quality Inspection

We walk the finished floor with you, check coverage, edges and transitions under working light, and hand over care instructions before we leave the site clean.

Questions

Concrete Flooring Questions, Answered

How long does epoxy flooring installation take?

Most residential garage flake floors are installed in a single day, and you can usually walk on the floor that evening and park on it after the topcoat has cured — we give you the exact return-to-service times on the day. Slabs needing crack repair, old coating removal or moisture work take longer. Commercial and industrial projects are scheduled by section and sized to your operating hours.

What is the difference between epoxy and polyurea?

Epoxy is a rigid, high-build resin — excellent as a thick body coat where you want durability and film thickness. Polyurea and polyaspartic resins cure much faster, stay more flexible as the slab moves, and hold their color under UV instead of yellowing. In practice we often combine them: a polyurea or epoxy basecoat for adhesion and build, flake broadcast into it, and a polyaspartic topcoat for wear and UV stability. Which combination you get depends on the slab and the use.

Is polished concrete suitable for warehouses?

Yes, and it is one of the most practical choices available. There is no applied film to delaminate under forklift traffic, maintenance is routine cleaning rather than recoating, and a polished surface reflects overhead light, which often improves visibility in a high rack environment. It needs a sound slab to start with — we assess that during the evaluation.

How long do concrete coatings last?

With correct preparation, a suitable system and normal maintenance, a well-installed industrial floor coating commonly performs for a decade or more before it needs recoating. The honest answer is that lifespan is driven by traffic, chemical exposure, cleaning method and how well the slab was prepared — which is exactly why we do not quote from a photograph.

Can existing concrete floors be restored?

In most cases, yes. Old paint and failing coatings are ground off, cracks and spalls are cut out and repaired, and the surface is reprofiled. We restore far more floors than we replace. Where a slab is structurally compromised rather than simply worn, we will say so rather than coat over the problem.

Do you provide commercial and industrial flooring?

Yes. Alongside residential garages, patios and basements, we install commercial polished concrete, epoxy and quartz systems in restaurants, retail, offices, clinics and gyms, and industrial systems in warehouses, manufacturing plants, commercial kitchens, automotive service facilities and logistics buildings.

Which areas of Georgia and Tennessee do you serve?

From our base in Calhoun we cover Northwest Georgia, Metro Atlanta and the Chattanooga, Tennessee metro — including Dalton, Rome, Cartersville, Ringgold, Chattanooga, Cleveland, Marietta, Kennesaw, Acworth, Canton, Alpharetta and Atlanta. See the full service area list.
